Grueby Pottery rare double gourd form vase with heavily tooled leaves curling above the lip of the bulbous top. It is covered in their famous curdled matte green glaze. It measures 16 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or firing flaws, just a small side cord hole restoration from prior use as a lamp base and a glazed over in the making pit in the clay. Marked with the Grueby Pottery Co Boston USA die-stamp, the incised decorator initials MS for Marie Seaman. An excellent example of the quintessential Arts & Crafts New England art pottery.
