Grueby Pottery scarab paperweight. Covered with their famous curdled matte green glaze. It measures 4 inches long, 2 5/8 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches tall, the largest size. There is repair to a small chip on the left leg but it's in otherwise fine condition with no cracks or firing flaws. Marked with the earlier Grueby Faience Boston USA circular die-stamp and the original paper label. Originally introduced in 1904 at the St Louis Exposition. An excellent example of the quintessential Arts & Crafts New England art pottery.
