Marblehead Pottery HT berry tree decorated vase
Marblehead Pottery HT berry tree decorated vase
Marblehead Pottery decorated cylinder or barrel form vase with a plant or tree design of square ivy-like green leaves and orange berries outlined in blue gray against a matte speckled gray ground. The interior is a glossy clear showing the red clay color. It measures 4 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. Marked with the firm's die-stamped MP and ship mark and a blue glaze HT for the designer Hennessey and the decorator Sarah Tutt. The pottery was founded in Massachusetts by Dr Herbert Hall, run by Arthur Baggs, and dates to about 1915. A fine piece of New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.
