Merrimac Pottery rare vase with tooled overlapping leaves and covered in their signature matte green glaze over red clay similar to that popularized by Grueby, Merrimac, Hampshire, Owens, Rookwood, and many others. Made in Newburyport Massachusetts around 1900. It measures 6 inches tall and about 5 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in excellent condition with only tiny leaf edge nicks and a couple small base chips colored in and no big chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. Marked with the firm's die-stamped fish mark. A beautiful piece of hard to find New England Arts & Crafts matte green art pottery.
