Newcomb College Pottery scenic landscape vase in their signature matte blue green glazes. The full moon shows through the moss draped oak trees with a distant tree line at the horizon. Very well carved with good contrast and color, it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. A good size at 8 inches tall and 3 7/8 inches in diameter at the widest. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, SI for decorator Sadie Irvine, JH for the potter Jonathon Hunt, and date code RW87 for 1929.
