Newcomb College Pottery vase with a decoration of bonsai like windswept pine trees on a fat spherical form. Carved by Sadie Irvine and glazed in their matte blue and green glazes with excellent relief, and contrast. It measures 5 1/8 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, JH for the potter Jonathan Hunt, SI for the artist, and date code RS62 for 1929. A fine example of the quintessential southern Arts & Crafts art pottery.
