Newcomb College Pottery 1909 hi-glaze tyg

$6,750.00

Newcomb College Pottery hi-glaze tyg in their early gloss blue and green glazes. Grapes and leaves surround the three handled vessel with the motto: “Live And Love Till Love And Life Are One”. Very well carved with good contrast and color, it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. It measures 4 3/8 inches tall and about 5 1/2 inches wide. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, artist initials MS probably for Mary Summey (if not Mary Sheerer), JM for the potter Joseph Meyer, and date code DC78 for 1909.
