Newcomb College Pottery floral candlestick in their signature matte blue green glazes. It has a nicely carved sprays of white flowers with yellow centers repeated five times around the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, just a couple small flakes on the foot ring from the kiln shelf. It measures about 7 1/4 inches tall and 4 3/8 inches in diameter at the widest point. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, JM for the potter Joseph Meyer, HB for decorator Henrietta Bailey, and date code HQ64 for 1915. A fine example of the quintessential southern art pottery.
