Newcomb College Pottery vase with a decoration of oak trees, Spanish moss, and a full moon. Carved by Anna Frances Simpson and glazed in their matte blue and green glazes with excellent detail, relief, and contrast. It measures 5 1/4 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. Marks with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, JH for the potter Jonathan Hunt, AFS for the artist, and date code RU93 for 1929. A fine example of the quintessential southern Arts & Crafts art pottery.
