Clifton was started by William Long (of Lonhuda, Denver Denaura, and Weller fame), the pottery was located in Newark New Jersey and made between 1905 and 1909 when William Long left and returned to Weller. Marked Clifton with shape number 240 and Pueblo Viejo, Upper-Gila Valley, Ariz. It measures 7 3/8 inches tall and 12 3/4 inches in diameter. There is an old repair to a 1.5" rim chip glued back in, but it is otherwise in great condition with no cracks or firing flaws. An unusual piece of Arts & Crafts era art pottery.
