Rookwood Pottery unusual “Z” series carved matte green lamp base decorated with hollyhocks on a three dimensional tri-footed buttressed form with a pottery font cap. Made in Cincinnati OH c. 1902 by William P. McDonald. It measures 16 inches tall and about 9 inches in diameter across the buttress’. Marked with the RP die-stamp, II for 1902, shape number 328AZ, and artist signed WMcD. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws or repairs. A beautiful and sculptural example of arts & crafts Rookwood.
