Rookwood Pottery scenic vellum landscape matte finish vase decorated by Lenore Ashbury. The swelling cylindrical form has a blue, green and gray scene of trees and lake with distant hills. It measures 12 1/2 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest. Marked with the RP die-stamp, XVII for 1917, shape number 917A, V for vellum, and L.A. for the artist. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws or repairs, and the typical moderate crazing. A tall and beautiful example of arts & crafts Rookwood vellum.
