Van Briggle Pottery poppy pod design vase in curdled and textured matte green gray glaze with their chocolate clay showing through a little. It looks like number 485 in the shape book but the number on the bottom is incorrectly marked 462. It is in excellent condition with only a base chip from when it was removed from the kiln, and no cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. It measures 6 1/2 inches tall and 5 3/8 inches in diameter at the widest. Marked with the firms double AA box mark, 462, and 1907 marks. The chocolate clay was only used in 1905-1907.
